Adventures in Music

Every year, the upper grades in the Unified School District have the opportunity to watch "mini" concerts at various locations around the city.  We had a field trip to an AIMS concert at neighboring Laurel School down the street, and it was the first of several we will be watching this year.

The kids LOVED the Stringer Sisters as they explained the differences between a violin, viola, and cello.  A few of them also enjoyed the chance to actually play instruments in a rousing rendition of "POP Goes the Weasel."  

Our very own Adrianna actually conducted the strings for a bit, as you can see in the picture above.  She was a very commanding conductor, and directed them smoothly and without incident.  Excellent job, Adrianna!
